Congratulations to East West Partners on receiving city council approval for the new Cherry Creek West. With the passing of Buz Koelbel this month, we are reflecting on Koelbel & Company's tremendous influence on the growth and evolution of Colorado over the past several decades. Denver's newest neighborhood, Fox Park, recently finished environmental cleanup of what was a superfund site and will soon start horizontal development that will make way for a new Virgin Hotel, residences, offices and parks. Speaking of new developments: rooftop pickleball, anyone? Office building 1900 Lawrence has been delivered to downtown Denver.
Vail Resorts' Q4 losses - blamed on less snowfall in the U.S. and Australia - have led to their laying off 14% of their staff. Unless we can figure out a solution soon, climate change is going to have a major influence on Colorado's economy. In this age of hating on the office and Macy's store closures, Corum Real Estate recently finished the conversion of the Boulder Macy's at 29th Street into a spectacular new office building - what a masterpiece!
And lastly, looking for a great new restaurant in the Denver Tech Center? Saverina in the new Kimpton Claret Hotel at Belleview Station is pretty sleek and just a block from the Belleview light rail stop. Buon appetito!
